Philosophy
At SVSA, our mission has always been to try and place all of our kids that want to play soccer. We have fielded teams in several different age/gender groups some being co-ed. We will generally have teams established that can play in the various divisions of PA West Travel based on their rules for different levels of competition and experience. We do have the challenge of all clubs with the numbers of players that do tryout, as PA West has definitive maximum roster sizes that cannot be exceeded as well as having a minimum number of players to field a team. We have in the past, reached out to other local clubs to help build teams as they also like to place their players, and we have fielded co-ed teams.
Who Can Play
U8* and up. We have fielded teams from U8 to U19! U8/U9/U10 may play both in-house and travel. Dual players will receive a 50% off discount towards their in-house registration once they are confirmed on a travel team.
When do we play: Travel Soccer plays on Sundays typically half of the games at home in Cranberry Twp.; the other half away at a neighboring club within 15-90 minutes. We play between 6 - 8 games per season.
*U8 players must be evaluated. These players will have to play with U9/U10 players, so the evaluation staff must feel confident these players are physically and mentally prepared to play in these leagues.
Training - Travel teams generally have 1-2 practices per week as determined by the coach.
Cost - Cranberry Resident Registration Fee = $165 (uniform NOT included); Non-Resident Fee = $175 (uniform NOT included)
Player Evaluations
We have player evaluations dates for our travel players (typically in June) for the upcoming Fall season. All players need to attend at least one evaluation. However, it is best to attend two of the evaluations so we can get a better look at the players for placement. Players that do not go through the evaluation process or register late will be placed as space allows.
For the Spring season, we do not hold evaluations but any returning player from the Fall season will be placed on an appropriate age level team (not necessarily the same team from the Fall) prior to any new player coming out for Spring only.

Travel versus Academy/Classic
Players at a academy/classic level can also play travel. We encourage as much soccer as possible as it has been shown that the more the player can get touches on the ball, the better their skills can develop! Travel plays on Sundays, Classic or Academy plays on Saturdays so there is minimal conflicts.
